Amazon Rainforest Climate Change Actions
Whole World Botanicals
As we commemorate Indigenous Peoples' Day – which this year falls on Monday, October 14th – we would like to recognize the vital role of Indigenous communities in preserving the Amazon rainforest, especially in the face of unprecedented climate challenges. The Amazon rainforest is home to over 350 Indigenous groups. These communities have stewarded the Amazon rainforest for millennia, and play a vital role in preserving the health of the rainforest. It’s a symbiotic relationship, as the rainforest affects most aspects of their daily life, livelihood, and culture.
This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and every day, please join us in doing whatever you can to fight climate change, and help protect the health of the Amazon rainforest – and our planet!
It’s Time to Take Action!
The persistent drought, water shortages, wildfires, and other damaging climate events are pushing the Amazon closer to a critical tipping point, where it could transition from a rainforest to a much drier savanna-like ecosystem. That change has potentially catastrophic consequences for global climate regulation. That’s why it’s more urgent than ever for us to take action!
