In our 15 years of experience at Whole World Botanicals with supplying the finest quality of maca root powder and capsules to our customers in the U.S., we have never had a customer report that Royal Maca had made her fibroids grow larger.  On the contrary, we often receive reports that the fibroids have shrunk or disappeared completely.  So yes, it should be safe for you to take, although you have fibroids.  It is always important to follow the directions for finding your correct dosage.   If you take too much Maca, undesirable side effects might show up.  Start small and increase your dosage every 5 days until your symptoms are 80% better.

Having said that, I will also add that it is important to be followed by your health care practitioner, who can keep an eye on those fibroids and check to see how you are doing in terms of your fibroids.

I can get much better value from eating oranges, strawberries, kiwi fruit, etc. which are high in natural Vitamin C, rather than take this supplement powder or capsules.

You’d have to eat 10 ½ pounds of fresh picked strawberries to get the equivalent of 100 grams of fresh Camu-Camu berries. All sources of Vitamin C are not equally good.

I am a 49.5 year old woman with regular periods. However, for the past 5 years I have been experiencing increasing migraine headaches, night sweats, depression, and anxiety sleeplessness a few days before, during mid cycle and the worst…at the end of my period. I am not taking any prescription medication… my OB has prescribed birth control pills. But, I am afraid to take them. I am taking Tian Ma Gou Teng Yin & Long Dan Xie Gan Wan from my acupuncturist. Continue using your Chinese herbs. Give them a chance. If they aren’t helping much, you can stop those herbs and switch to Royal Maca which works on the entire endocrine system balance while addressing the issues you face. However, you cannot immediately take the Royal Maca after stopping the Chinese herbs. You will need to take Royal Camu according to the “for urgent and immediate use” directions on the bottle for 3 or 4 weeks. This is the length of time it will take to get the Chinese herbs out of your body, yet you should experience partial relief during this waiting period from using this substantial quantity of Royal Camu. It should be helpful with the depression and the migraines. After 4 weeks of this transition period, you can start the Royal Maca. After you have purchased the product you can call or write for a consultation on using this product.

It is much better than the spray dried light-colored Camu-Camu which is first flash frozen, then thawed, liquefied and then spray dried onto maltodextrine. Maltodextrine is just a cheap filler.

FALSE: Whole World Botanicals is proud of the fact that we don’t adulterate our products with excipients, flow agents, coloring, sugar—or any other additives. So when you find maltodextrin in our light Royal Camu product, you have to know that it’s there on purpose for a very good reason. Vitamin C is so highly unstable that once you, for example, cut open an orange, its Vitamin C begins to evaporate in the air. The sooner you eat it the better.

A starch, such as maltodextrin, have the unique and amazing property of stabilizing the Vitamin C in the Royal Camu Powder and Capsules. So even if you buy the product two years after its manufacture, it will contain most of its Vitamin C. Some people love our Dark Camu product because it has no additives at all, but it doesn’t have the same level of Vitamin C derived from the Camu-Camu fruit a few months after manufacture. FALSE: The fact that the Camu-Camu fruit has more Vitamin C than any other known botanical does not mean that you can purchase any Camu-Camu product with confidence that it is packed with Vitamin C. You need to find out if the manufacturer guarantees a certain level of natural Vitamin C (derived from the Camu-Camu fruit itself) in the product you are getting. Very few brands will commit to a certain level of natural Vitamin C because it is an expensive process to preserve this precious unstable vitamin. Vitamin C oxidizes rapidly and unless the Camu-Camu is flash frozen right out on the river in the jungle where it was picked, it will have very little Vitamin C left in it two weeks later when it gets to a processing plant. Royal Camu is flash frozen, after being washed, peeled and seeded, on a freezer boat which sits on the River during the harvest season, waiting for the native people to come in their dug-out canoes from the surrounding hamlets where they live to sell the berries they’ve just picked that day.

I am a Young Women interested in using your Royal Maca. I was previously on birth control from age 14 to 17 to control my acne, which it did, but the other side effects weren’t worth it. After having been off birth control for a year, my acne is back, and my hormone levels, both estrogen and progesterone, are very low. Although I get a regular period, it is VERY light and almost nonexistent. I was wondering if you feel that I would benefit from your Royal Maca product, which I know can help acne and regulate hormonal levels. My doctors want me back on the birth control pill, which I REALLY do not want to do! I also was wondering what your opinions were in taking Black Cohosh (which I’ve read can help acne/hormones) versus Royal Maca. Which would I benefit greater from, if any? What is the difference? I don’t have any information on the use of black cohosh for acne. But you definitely cannot take it together with Royal Maca. If you have already started to take Black Cohosh you’ll have to wait 3 or 4 weeks (I would suggest a full menstrual cycle) before starting with the Maca. In our experience, it’s best to take Royal Maca on a daily basis, starting the first or second day of your monthly bleeding. If you are 115 lbs or less, start with one capsule daily. Women who weigh more than 120 lbs. generally do better with 2 caps a day–unless they are very sensitive.

Some companies make up pretty marketing stories which are absolutely false.  One company spreads the story that native Peruvians walk for miles to travel from home to the nearest town and when they get hungry or feel weak or tired, they pull a raw dried maca root out of their pocket and gnaw on it a little to get some strength.  Total fabrication out of the mind of the marketer!!!

Native Peruvians never eat raw maca.
